Hydrogeological Study

After the community mobilization and sensitization stage, Geologists do the Hydro Geological Study on the proposed areas. Hydrogeology (hydro- meaning water, and geology meaning the study of the Earth) is the area of geology that deals with the distribution and movement of groundwater in the soil and rocks of the Earth's crust (commonly in aquifers).

The term geo-hydrology is often used interchangeably. Some make the minor distinction between a hydrologist or engineer applying them to geology (geohydrology) and a geologist applying them to hydrology (hydrogeology). Under Hydro Geological Study, Local studies are done for a large variety of clients, mostly to assess the feasibility of drilling boreholes or digging hand dug or hand augured wells to meet local water needs.

The Company can also generate maps as planning tools for Water Resources potential and coverage. This is used where possible to determine areas with water quality problems for example a high fluoride or iron content, as well as the groundwater potential of various areas. Hydro Geological Study in the areas of interest are usually carried out in an effort to identify the exact spot to put the production well that is a spot with a very good yield to fulfill the required minimum yield requirement.
